Hold fast to the rope of Allah! Chapter 3 Verse 103

Tags :

With the name of Allah, Most Kind Most Merciful…

A rope is made of many threads twisted together. Each thread strengthens the rope.

Likewise Islam is made of many Beliefs, actions and principles…as guided by Allah(SWT)

In the Quraan.

As Believers we should all grab hold of this rope, unify by this rope.

Each verse of the Quraan is like a thread. The more we study and implement the verses,

the stronger the rope becomes. The stronger Islam grows.

Though there are many divisions in our societies, our similarities far outweigh our differences.

The companions of the Prophet(SAW) came from various different tribes and backgrounds.

They had been all scattered and divided by their differing lineage and customs.

They were on the brink of the fire, when Allah(SWT) sent them His Book through

His final Messenger(SAW), who taught it by word and example. Having a common Book, the Quraan,

Led to common goals and aspirations, uniting the Arabs. Their fragmented tribalism

had become a united ummah, that established common Quraanic goals and aspirations

leading them to become leaders of the world and attracting the Mercy and Blessings of Allah(SWT).

I have been thinking about unity of Muslims in this country. In our South African context,

There is a sure way to unite. There are thousands of people unemployed and thousands

Earning the minimum wage which is barely enough to live honorably. I am convinced,

By experience that if we sincerely strive to uplift the poor, than surely Allah(SWT)

would unite our hearts, as He united the hearts of the companions of the Prophet(SAW).

We all have minor difference which will persist, but we can without doubt unite on

The development of the poor and their societies. This effort of spending our wealth and

Time in the service of humanity can surely reduce our differences and increase our communication

With each other leading to a stronger ummah, by the will of Allah(SWT)…

“And be not like a woman who breaks into untwisted strands the yarn which she has spun, after it has become strong. Nor take your oaths to practice deception between yourselves, lest one party should be more numerous than another: for Allah will test you by this; and on the Day of Judgment He will certainly make clear to you (the truth of) that wherein ye disagree.” S16V92

May Allah(SWT), by His Grace and Mercy unite our hearts as He had united the hearts of the companions of the Prophet(SAW)

And May He who has power over everything strengthen the Deen of Islam in our homes, communities, our country and the world,

For without doubt without the Guidance of Allah(SWT) there is only difficulty, hardship and oppression…

You simply the best! Chapter 3 V110

With the name of Allah, Most Kind Most Merciful…

Yap the Ummah of Muhammed(SAW), those entrusted with the Quraan are the Best
Ummah, just like the Jews who were the chosen people at their time.
As is obvious the Jews have lost the special divine place, we too could
loose ours.

Being chosen / being the best carries a responsibility. Failing the
responsibility forsakes the special divine privilege of being loved by
Allah. Just as the Jews went from being the chosen, to those on whom is the
curse, we too, could follow the same path.
You are the best of peoples, evolved for mankind, enjoining what is right, forbidding what is wrong, and believing in Allah. If only the People of the Book had faith, it were best for them: among them are some who have faith, but most of them are perverted transgressors.

Chapter 3 Verse 110
As the above verse obviously indicates, as Believers, Muslims, each of
us should be socially active.

“Enjoining what is right” – Commanding, encouraging, motivating all that’s
good and fair and just…
Contextually –
1)      Feeding the poor
2)      Creating jobs
3)      Investing in informal settlements, low cost housing, business
oppurtunities…
4)      Encouraging good wages
5)      Fair and just treatment of employees, domestic workers…
6)      Encouraging and supporting education
7)      Building relations with community organizations
8)      Establish links and friendly relations with other religions
9)      Encouraging and supporting the youth in education and receation
10)     ……….

“Forbidding what is wrong” – forbidding, preventing, discouraging all that
unfair, shameful, unjust…with our hands or words or any means possible
Contextually –
1)      Discourage prejudice and racism
2)      Forbid racist remarks and nicknames
3)      Prevent Unfair labour practices
4)      Discourage alcohol and all form of drugs
5)      Prevent and discourage all forms of shameful activities and behavior
6)      Forbid all forms of gambling
7)      Discourage all forms of sectarianism
8)      Discourage all forms of extravagance
9)      Discourage all forms of interest and undue oppressive increases
10)     ……

May Allah(SWT) by His Grace and Mercy grant us the conviction, strength,
sabr…to truly reflect this awesome privilege of
Simply being Muslims and guide us to be among those that strive in His path,
enjoining right and forbidding wrong…

May Allah(SWT) strengthen Deen Al Islam, in our homes, communities and this
country!

A complete, perfect, magnificent favour…Chapter 5 Verse 3

Tags :

With the name of Allah, Most Kind Most Merciful…

Among the greatest favors bestowed upon us by Our Creator is the deen of Islam.

Sometimes the best way to appreciate a gift is to imagine it’s gone…

So imagine a life without Islam… L

Imagine a life without bowing and prostrating to your Creator daily…

Imagine a life without Ramadaan and Big nights…

Imagine a life without pity and concern for the poor and needy…

Imagine getting drunk or family members getting drunk…

Imagine being caught up in a life of disco’s, adultery and gambling…

Imagine a life without wudu, without a serious focus on cleanliness…

Imagine a life of deceit, stealing, injustice…

Imagine a life without the sweet recitation of the Quraan

Without the Glorious words of Allah(SWT)…

OK, stop imaging now J

Just praise Allah(SWT) as often as you can, like the Prophet(SAW) taught us to pray every time we eat,

So that we never forget :

“All Praise to Allah who gave us food and drink and made us Muslims.”

Yes, we have many challenges within our deen but it’s the most awesome favor in the world just

2b a MUSLIM, if only we could understand…

PS – As Muslims we should strive to understand our deen better, and there is no easier way then to read the Quraan with understanding and to implement every little Allah(SWT) teaches us through His Magnificent Book, and to teach it to others…

May Allah(SWT) strengthen deen Al Islam in our hearts, minds, actions, in our homes and in this country,

By His infinite Mercy and unbounded Grace…

And may He who has total power over us, guide us to be ever grateful for Making us Muslims,

And May He Who guides whom He please,

Increase our obedience to Him,

Increase our love for Him,

And Increase our fear of Him…
